The GSC has just launched a new individual grant opportunity for graduate students in all departments and schools at MIT. A student may be awarded up to $200 to cover registration costs for a professional development event outside their main academic or research field. See more information here, with an application at the bottom of the website. The first application deadline had been scheduled for August 1, but has been extended one week to August 8.
The goal of this program is to facilitate student exploration of career-relevant skills and interests not covered by their required training while at MIT. Examples include seminars, workshops, conferences, lectures. Note that the grant funds may only be used to cover costs of registration.
