Traveling Through Art

Like many MIT students, I became extremely cagey during quarantine. I transitioned from studying in upbeat cafes and regularly sailing on the Charles to sleeping and working within the same four walls. My time spent outside dwindled as my internship progressed, and this is when I decided to try "traveling" through art. Using my iPad, the Apple Pencil, and the app Procreate, I created a series of digital pieces featuring a lone explorer and a colorful landscape. I drew inspiration from various photographers on Instagram and a mix of impressionist and realistic artistic styles. Drawing these pieces was incredibly therapeutic and relaxing, and allowed me a creative outlet to express my love of travel and new experiences.
