Register for Professor Richard P. Binzel of the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences on Wednesday, November 8 at 3:30pm in 10-250 for his lecture "From Stonehenge to MIThenge: Revealing Our Place in the Universe Through Cosmic Alignments". The lecture will take place in 10-250 followed by a reception in The Bush Room.
Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11 are two days of the year, when the cosmos and MIT align such that the setting sun shines straight down the third floor of the Infinite Corridor. We'll examine what factors create this curious local alignment, but more importantly, explore how cosmic alignments are essential tools for understanding our place in the Universe.
In Building 7 Lobby, 3rd Floor Professor Binzel is hosting a space-walking tour of the Infinite Solar System on Thursday, November 9 at 2 pm or 3 pm. Tours meet in Lobby 7 on the 3rd floor. Limited space is available and registration is now closed.
