Reif convenes MIT community for shaping response to recent violence

In a letter to the MIT Community, titled "What Are We to Do?," President Reif announced, A Community Dialogue Responding to Recent Tragedies will convene Wednesday, July 13, at 11:45 am - 1:30 pm in Student Center (W20), Sala de Puerto Rico (2nd floor).

Reif also urged all MIT students who would like counsel or support to seek out advice from one of the many helping resources at MIT, and reminded faculty, staff and post-docs of their employee benefit, MyLifeServices, a free, confidential counseling and consultation service available to current employees, post-docs, and families.

Wednesday's conversation will be a touchpoint in ongoing efforts that bringing many voices at the Institute together to address issues of "Injustice, racism, mistrust, suspicion, fear and violence." This conversation will take shape further in Septemeber, as Reif announced he has asked "Vice President Kirk Kolenbrander to bring together all the voices in our community early this fall, to consider the most effective ways for us to help address these problems and to explore how we can best contribute to progress."
